That election probably garnered the most media attention (across all mediums x time x intensity x frequency) of any event in history. I’ve heard a lot of people say the internet felt slower as the results were being counted. I wonder how many petabytes (or how many of “the units bigger than petabyte”) were chewed up as people watched and waited.
On a personal note, my partner Kirsten got to vote and I got to fax her vote through from the office (I’m pretty sure all the pages went through). As the faxer, I feel that I made a difference. Anything could have happened had I not been there.
